Supercross tickets are still in demand for all races in all classes, and recently we had a landmark win for a newbie. In front of a huge number of fans – 49,082 – at the Monster Energy AMA Supercross at the new Cowboys Stadium, Rockstar Makita Suzuki’s Ryan Dungey raced to win his fourth AMA supercross class main event and the crowd went wild. Bet they were glad they bought their Supercross tickets now, huh?! An even bigger deal in some ways was that a rookie rider raced to a career first victory in a major race, when Rockstar Suzuki’s Blake Bagget won the Eastern Regional AMA Supercross Lites class main event. Baggett has plenty of reasons to be proud of himself, not least which for the way he won the race, coming from behind at the end to claim the prize. He beamed on the podium and said the win was “a dream come true”.

But it is Dungey they are all looking at now. He finished ahead of Millsaps and Canard who finished second and third, respectively.

“This was a big win for me tonight, but there are still a lot of races left to go. The track got really rough tonight, so that kept me on my toes. I am looking forward to going to Jacksonville next weekend,” said Dungey, eagerly looking ahead to the rest of the season.

Most amazingly, almost the whole field fell in the first turn of the Eastern Regional AMA Supercross Lites class, anmd then on the next lap, two riders, Adams and Moss collided, and both were forced to withdraw from the field. At this piont Bagget went into second place. Shortly afterward he overtook Sipes and victory belonged to the rookie. Sipes came in second and Honda’s Justin Barcia finished third. Pourcel finished seventh and still holds a five point lead in the Eastern Regional AMA Supercross Lites class championship.

Practically every AMA Racing disciplines will be on full display at the 2010 Daytona Bike Week, from February 27 through March 7. If you’re big into Supercross tickets, then you’ll want to go to Daytona for this landmark event. The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) is understandably a major presence at Daytona, and Supercross is enjoying an increasingly large slice of the attention.

The historic Alligator Enduro will see the season-opener of the Can-Am Grand National Cross Country Series. Without doubt, every top motocross and dirt-bike rider from across the country and beyond will be there. Daytona and its environs sport some of the best off-road tracks in the world – always a big draw for the daredevil AMA Supercross riders. AMA Supercross tickets will show you a whole new track and a whole new motorcycle race this time in Daytona: Amateur supercross bikers will be racing through the one-of-a-kind Daytona Supercross By Honda course, they will be charging around the new Daytona Flat Track site right outside Daytona International Speedway.

Bike Week in Daytona is one of the must-go-to bike events in the USA, up there with the annual pilgrimage to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota. If you love motorcycles, America’s yearly bike meets are your bread and butter – and with AMA Supercross tickets selling as well as they are this year will likely see big increases in the numbers of people making those treks to the beautiful events to see the biggest and most interesting machines.

Motorcycle rallies are considered a right of passage for young riders and old riders alike – and many American motorcyclists don’t see their first Daytona Bike Week or Sturgis Motorcycle rally until their are quite long in the tooth. Don’t let that put you off. Plenty of “old hands” are checking the AMA Supercross schedule and buying supercross tickets, just as many as hitting places such as Laconia Motorcyle Week in Laconia, New Hampshire. If you like to race, you just have to go to a rally, that’s the bottom line. Daytona Bike Week is full of awesome distractions, too, and is probably the most fun of all the motorcycle events. From the early days of the Daytona Supercross, to the Alligator Enduro, not to mention the dirt-track races and the unique Daytona Supercross By Honda course, you own’t have more fun anywhere. Whether you’re pro AMA racer, or an amateur looking for thrills, Daytona will thrill you with the sheer numbers of bikes in town and the inexhaustible attractions that cater to Bike Week!

The opening race of the 2010 Monster Energy AMA Supercross, saw defending AMA Supercross champion James Stewart race to yet another win – this time from a position of disadvantage. Stewart proved his pedigree when he came from behind against Ryan Dungey, who led the champ by a margin of four seconds plus until the 17th lap when Stewart heroically passed Dungey and claimed the first scalp of the year. Almost 44,000 Supercross fans filled Anaheim’s Angel Stadium and they weren’t disappinted by this nail-biting opener to the year’s supercross calendar. Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto was nitially vying with Stewart for second place, but Stewart negated the Villipoto threat and romped home in style. Expect to see a lot more from Villipoto this supercross season though, as well as ex-champ Floridian Chad Reed, who started in sixth place.

Reed, who finished overall second last year, was forced to pull off the Anaheim racetrack after a collision with North Carolina’s Austin Stroupe that damaged some of the spokes in his wheel.

“I was at the wrong place at the wrong time,” Reed said. “The pace is really high right now, and there was nothing that I could do. I was trying to pass another rider and our lines came together.” Nice to see the champ is still as gentlemanly as ever! it’s personalities like Reeds that make people want to buy Supercross tickets and watch these races live. It gives motorcycle racing fans a reason to believe they are witnessing skills and glories achieved by heroes, unlike a lot of the tarnished stars of other sports.

Stewart was riding a San Manuel Yamaha, and seemed to take his time to finally pass Dungey. Perhaps bolstered by his earlier lead, Dungey attempted to retake the pole on the final lap of the race. Stewart’s vast experience enabled him to hold on to his position for a seventh career Angel Stadium triumph. Kevin Windham finished third, occupying the place that Reed would surely have made had he not collided with Stroupe earlier. All in all it was an awesome opening day, which was started by KISS guitarist Ace Frehley playing the national anthem. Check it out!
